چکیده

In this paper we propose two systems for achieving synchronization in asynchronous multi-user chaos-based DS-CDMA. For the first system, synchronization process is realized thanks to a binary code used as an additive pilot sequence to the spreaded signal. Gold sequences are used as pilot signals for the different users to accomplish the synchronization. For the second synchronization system, the synchronization is made through a binary code used as a multiplicative pilot signal for the spreaded data sequence. These synchronization processes are evaluated under the assumption of an additive white Gaussian noise channel together with multi-user interferences. In this paper we will focus on the initial synchronization phase (code acquisition) and we assume that the system can achieve correctly the code tracking after this first synchronization phase. The code acquisition for the two systems is evaluated in terms of the probability of detection and probability of false alarm. & 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

A Novel Multi-user Detection Approach on Fluctuations of Autocorrelation Estimators in Non-Cooperative Communication

Recently, blind multi-user detection has become an important topic in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signals are well-known due to their low probability of detection, and secure communication. In this article, the problem of blind multi-user detection is studied in variable processing gain direct-sequence code division multiple access (VPG D...

Accurate Bit Error Rate Calculation for Asynchronous Chaos-Based DS-CDMA over Multipath Channel

An accurate approach to compute the bit error rate expression for multiuser chaosbased DS-CDMA system is presented in this paper. For more realistic communication system a slow fading multipath channel is considered. A simple RAKE receiver structure is considered. Based on the bit energy distribution, this approach compared to others computation methods existing in literature gives accurate res...

Synchronization algorithms for iterative demodulated M-ary DS-CDMA systems

In this paper, we developed several algorithms to combat the impact of synchronization errors on demodulating Mary orthogonal signaling formats in asynchronous DS-CDMA systems. The system under study resembles the uplink of an IS-95 system. The channel is assumed to be a time-varing flat Rayleighfading channel. Investigation shows that synchronization errors severely deteriorate the performance...
